Welcome to the Branch Equalities Section
In PCS, equality is at the heart of everything we do. It's important as it helps to make sure we are always working to represent all of our members.
PCS have a number of equality groups nationally that work to promote equality as well as tackle discrimination in our workplaces, society and around the rest of the world. PCS is committed to ensuring our members within under-represented groups are encouraged and supported to play a full and active role in our Union.
There are five equality groups within PCS. These are:
National Black Members Committee
National Disabled Members Forum
National Women's Forum
National Young Members Committee, and
Proud, our LGBT members group
Each group campaign throughout the year and organise events to engage and encourge members to participate within the group as well as PCS' wider campaigning strategies.
Within the Branch we have elected officers on the Branch Executive Committee for each equality starnd to ensure we as a Branch support our members and remain inclusive of our members.
Use the links on the left to access details of news, events and other items of interest for each of our local equality groups. And if you have any questions then please speak to any local rep who will be happy to speak with yuou in confidence.
Equalities Calendar
Part of the role of the branch equality committee is to promote specific equality focused events. Below you will see a timetable of events throughout the year. If you would like further information on these events or about any involvement PCS will have in them, please contact your local rep.
